CeyBus.lk is an online marketplace for Sri Lanka intercity bus seats.
You pay in LKR, get an e-ticket immediately, and the seat is held in live inventory so it cannot be sold twice. Live GPS covers most coaches. Cancel up to 12 hours before departure for a full refund when eligible.
How we got here
Intercity travel in Sri Lanka still moves millions of people every week. For years the default was a phone call to a depot, a paper slip, and no way to know if the seat was still free when you arrived. CeyBus started as a booking layer for those coaches: live inventory, a QR the conductor can scan offline, and a refund rule passengers can read before they pay.
Today the platform lists 120+ corridors and 40+ operator partners across 60+ cities. Checkout is native LKR. You pick origin, destination, and date, compare live coaches side by side — including luxury overnight and regional A/C services — and lock a numbered seat. Card payments run on a bank-hosted page. CeyBus never stores the full card number.
Coverage is strongest on the money corridors passengers already search: Colombo to Kandy, the Southern Expressway to Galle and Matara, Jaffna luxury overnight, and Anuradhapura A/C. Boarding stands include Pettah Bastian Mawatha, Wellawatte, and Makumbura MMC. GPS on about 92% of active coaches means you can see the bus before you leave home.
Founder Nipuna Bandara put it this way: automating seat inventory cut passenger terminal queuing delays by an estimated 92% at major highway interchanges including Kaduwela and Kurunegala. Over 250,000 rides have been booked on the platform. Operators get settled payouts. Conductors get a manifest that matches the QR at the door.
We still do not claim to be SLTB or the National Transport Commission. CeyBus is the marketplace. The coach, the driver, and the boarding bay belong to the operator. That split is why refunds, delays, and GPS are published as platform rules plus live trip data — not as a government timetable.
